About Fidget

Built in real stores. Now on every scan.

Fidget turns products and media already in market into experiences that complete customer actions. It is built by the team that opened some of the most advanced physical stores in the country.

Our story

We did not start with a slide about the future of retail. We started by opening stores and running them.

Leav Inc. is the team and legal entity behind Fidget: engineers, designers, and retail operators working as one group. We built and operated mobile Scan & Go, staff-assisted checkout, and autonomous store formats with retailers before turning that work into a product.

Fidget turns packaging, QR codes, and retail media surfaces into mobile experiences shoppers actually use, with the tracking to see what happened. Our name changed. The people and the track record behind it did not.

A record of firsts

A record of firsts in physical retail

We did not start with a slide about the future of retail. We started by opening stores and running them.

  1. A shopper holding a phone with a completed self-checkout purchase confirmation in a Leav store

The first complete payment automation in Canada

In December 2020 we opened Boutique Leav at the Centre Eaton in Montreal. Shoppers scanned products with their phone, paid online, and walked out. No line, no cashier, no checkout. The press called it the first complete payment automation in Canada.

  2. A shopper holding a phone with a completed self-checkout purchase confirmation in a Leav store

La Vie En Rose brings it to market

In August 2022, La Vie En Rose became the first retailer to launch Leav, moving the model from our own store to a national chain. It went on to roll out across 25 La Vie En Rose locations.

  3. A shopper holding a phone with a completed self-checkout purchase confirmation in a Leav store

Lib Depanneur: autonomous retail where a store could not otherwise survive

In 2023, in Saint-Leandre, we helped open an unstaffed micro-store that keeps a rural community supplied where a conventional staffed store could not operate, answering both food access and a regional labour shortage. It won three awards at the Gala OSEntreprendre.

  4. A Mamie Clafoutis staff member and a customer completing a mobile checkout at the counter

Mamie Clafoutis: the first hybrid store in the world

Mamie Clafoutis is the first hybrid store in the world, staffed by day and fully autonomous after hours, on the same floor and the same systems. It extended the hours the store can sell without adding staff.

  5. Product packaging with a QR code, one of the surfaces Fidget experiences now open from

Now, extending to the rest of physical

Packaging, retail media, out of home, print, and every surface a shopper can scan. The same operating experience, applied beyond the store walls.

What Fidget is now

The same expertise, pointed at every scan

How it works

A scan on a package, a display, a screen, or an ad opens a guided mobile experience where a shopper can learn, choose, buy, register, or reorder. On iPhone it opens as a native App Clip. On Android it opens as a branded mobile web experience. There is no full app to install.

Our method

The one we used in the stores: map, link, launch, connect, measure.

What could Fidget do with your product?

Bring one product, one package, or one campaign. We will map what the experience should do, how it opens, and how you would track it, before you commit to anything bigger.
