Extending operating hours autonomously with Mamie Clafoutis

Leav case study, reproduced as published by Fidget's operating team (the same team behind Leav); the details below are Leav-era, not Fidget benchmarks.

This is a companion piece to the bakery-experience case study above, focused on the operating-hours angle of the same deployment.

The constraint

Mamie Clafoutis wanted recurring shoppers to complete a purchase on their own, free staff to spend more time on personalized service, and let shoppers who arrive outside regular hours still get what they need. As published, the chain operates in relatively small footprints, around 2,400 sq. ft., and had just invested in renovating its stores, which ruled out bulky hardware or anything that broke the aesthetic.

The solution

Leav's unified platform supports both staff-assisted and autonomous operation from the same system. During regular hours, shoppers move freely between self-checkout and staff assistance. After close, the store switches to secure, autonomous access: customers gain entry via ID and pre-authorized payment, letting Mamie Clafoutis monetize idle store time without adding staff.

The outcome

The published case study frames the result as extending revenue hours without increasing payroll, capturing richer customer data at each transaction, and improving the shopper experience overall, across the chain's 2,400 sq. ft. locations. It does not publish a separate set of hours or revenue figures beyond what appears in the companion piece above.

As Joseph Sabatier, co-founder of Mamie Clafoutis, notes in the bakery-experience case study above, blending customer service with self-service in this way is what streamlined the chain's operations and enhanced the experience for its shoppers.
